Toyota Motor is set to launch its latest crossover, the Taisor, in India this year in partnership with Maruti Suzuki.
The Taisor will share its base with the Maruti Suzuki Fronx but will have different exterior design.
The Taisor is expected to have a dual-tone interior, a 9.0-inch free-floating SmartPlay infotainment system, and more.
The Taisor may include safety features such as front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, and pedestrian protection compliance.
Premium safety features like hill hold assistance and an electronic stability program are expected in the Taisor.
The Taisor may have a naturally aspirated petrol engine or a turbo-petrol Boosterjet engine with mild-hybrid technology.
The naturally aspirated petrol engine may generate 100 horsepower and 147.6 Nm, while the turbo-petrol engine may generate 90 horsepower and 113 Nm.
The NA petrol engine may come with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT transmission, while the turbo-petrol engine may come with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
The Taisor is expected to be priced between Rs 7.5 lakh and Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), and will be the brand's second vehicle in the sub Rs 10 lakh category.
The exact pricing details will be announced after Maruti Suzuki declares the prices for the Fronx, which is expected to happen next month.
