Maruti has launched the CNG model of its most popular hatchback Swift. The company has named it Swift S-CNG. You will be able to buy it in two variants of Vxi and Zxi.

Maruti has introduced the new Swift S-CNG in the Indian market, it is being offered in two variants - VXi and ZXi. The price of VXi has been kept at 7.77 lakhs and ZXi has been priced at 8.45 lakhs.

The new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will be available with the 1.2-litre K-series dual jet engine and dual VVT engine. This engine produces 77.49 PS of maximum power and 98.5 Nm of peak torque.

The Swift S-CNG delivers a fuel efficiency of 30.90 km/kg, making it the most powerful CNG hatchback in India. It is also the most fuel efficient CNG hatchback in the Indian market.

The hatchback does not get any updates cosmetically. It gets up-swept halogen headlamps, chrome garnish on the grille, turn indicators on the ORVMs and LED tail lamps.

Not many changes have been made in the features of the S-CNG version. For safety, it has features like ABS, EBD, airbags, rear camera, hill hold assist and electronic stability control.

It is the sportiest and most spacious car in its segment. The company has sold more than 26 lakh units so far.

Maruti Suzuki S-CNG comes with Dual Interdependent Electronic Control Units and an Intelligent Injection System. The job of the ECU and injection system is to provide an optimum air-fuel mixture.

To avoid corrosion, Maruti Suzuki is using stainless steel pipes and joints. The wiring harness is integrated to eliminate the possibility of a short circuit.

In addition, a microswitch has been installed which prevents the engine from starting during the CNG filling process.

The current lineup of CNG-powered models from Maruti Suzuki includes Alto, S-Presso, Wagon R, Celerio, DZire, Eeco and Ertiga.

In the last financial year, Maruti Suzuki sold 1,57,954 units of CNG-powered cars. Whereas year-on-year growth of 48 percent was seen.
