Domestic SUV maker, Mahindra & Mahindra has officially introduced 5 new electric SUVs – XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09.

Mahindra introduced 5 new electric SUVs on the occasion of Independence Day. Based on Mahindra's new INGLO platform, these SUVs have been classified into two different sub-brands - XUV.e and BE.

The five new electric SUVs include XUV.e8, XUV.e9, BE.05, BE.07 and BE.09. Four of these will be launched in the next four years between 2024 and 2026.

The company has introduced these cars at a mega event in London. The company says that this EV car will catch the speed of 0-100kmph in 5 to 6 seconds.

The company plans to invest more than $1 billion in the electric vehicle segment. The company had raised funding of Rs 1,925 crore in July.

The length of these SUVs will be between 4,368 mm and 4,735 mm. While the wheelbase will be kept from 2,762 to 2,775 mm. At present, the length of the company's XUV700 is 4,695mm.

Mahindra is also paying special attention to ground clearance. The company is targeting a 20-degree ramp break over degree and a 218mm battery with ground clearance, which will be kept 150 to 190mm

The vehicle's battery will range from 60-80kWh and will support a 175kW fast charger, which will charge the battery to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Mahindra says that the 80kWh battery will give a driving range of around 435km to 450km under the WLTP cycle.

New e-SUV will get an all-wheel-drive set-up with a rear-drive. The front motor will generate a maximum torque of 109hp and 135Nm, while the rear motor will make a maximum of 286hp and 560Nm of torque

Mahindra says that the rear drive model will generate between 231hp and 286hp, while the AWD model will generate between 340hp and 394hp. These cars will reach 0-100kph in 5 to 6 seconds.

The company has not disclosed much about the features of the car. However, it will get a pillar-to-pillar triple screen set-up that will house three 1920X720p high resolution 12.3-inch panels.

Mahindra also announced that its new EV range will include two sub-brands, the XUV.e series and the BE series. First, the XUV.e8 will be launched in December 2024 and then the XUV.e9 in April 2025.

BE.05 will be launched in October 2025, while BE.07 will be launched in October 2026. At the same time, when BE.09 will be brought is yet to be decided.
