Top 10 Most Sold EVs In CY 2023 Q2

Tata Motors’ Tiago EV has outsold the Nexon EV in the second quarter of CY 2023, registering sales of 10,695 units as opposed to the Nexon EV’s 5,072 units. The Tiago EV is the first electric hatchback from Tata Motors and was launched in September 2022. It is offered in two battery options – a 19.2 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 250 km on a single charge and a 24 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 315 km on a single charge.

The Tiago EV is powered by an electric motor that produces 75 kW (101 hp) of power and 170 Nm of torque. It comes with multiple charging options – a regular 15A home socket, a 3.3 kW AC charger, a 7.2 kW AC home charger, and a DC fast charger. The 7.2 kW AC home charger can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in 3 hours and 36 minutes, while the DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in just 57 minutes.

The Nexon EV is Tata Motors’ most popular electric car and was launched in 2020. It is offered in two variants – XM and XZ+. The XM variant is powered by a 30.2 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 312 km on a single charge. The XZ+ variant is powered by a 40.2 kWh battery pack that offers a claimed range of 360 km on a single charge.

The Nexon EV is powered by an electric motor that produces 129 hp of power and 245 Nm of torque. It comes with multiple charging options – a regular 15A home socket, a 3.3 kW AC charger, a 6.0 kW AC fast charger, and a DC fast charger. The 6.0 kW AC fast charger can charge the battery from 0 to 100% in 6 hours, while the DC fast charger can charge the battery from 10 to 80% in just 40 minutes.

The Tiago EV’s success is a testament to the growing popularity of electric vehicles in India.
