Suzuki Burgman Electric: 5 Things You Need to Know

The Suzuki Burgman Electric marks a new age of cooperation amongst Japan's big four two-wheeler brands, Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.

Suzuki has chosen the popular Burgman Street 125 as the platform for its first electric offering, with an all-new build to accommodate the batteries and motor.

The e-Burgman will have a seat height of 780mm and is expected to perform well in European and Asian markets, as well as India.

Interestingly, the e-Burgman will be using Honda's Mobile Power Pack e-swappable batteries, the same ones used in Japan's battery-sharing consortium.

The e-Burgman will be powered by an AC synchronous motor producing up to 4kW of peak power and 18Nm torque, with a range of 44km while cruising at speeds of 60kmph.

Although the e-Burgman was spied testing in India back in 2021, its launch in India has been delayed due to the upcoming launch of Honda's battery-swapping network.

Maxi-style scooters provide ample space for more batteries, making them an excellent platform for building EVs.

The Burgman is a global moniker, which should make the acceptance of the new e-Burgman easier than launching something all-new.

Building an EV on an existing platform is easier than building something from the ground up.

The Suzuki Burgman Electric promises to provide a convenient and eco-friendly mode of transportation for commuters, with the anticipation for its arrival continuing to grow.
