2021 All New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Review
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Review: Royal Enfield Classic 350 is a superstar in the world of motorcycles. It is you and us that has become the hallmark of retro bikes for bikers and its sales have been so strong that it has given new birth to the Royal Enfield brand and that too despite its reliability and quality issues. But now after 10 years, Royal Enfield has launched the new generation Classic 350 to please the new generation riders and compete with the new competition. So will this new Classic 350 scale new heights? Let us know in this article.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Engine

As we know, the biggest problem in the old Classic 350 was the vibration, which Royal Enfield has fixed in the new Classic 350. The refinement of the new Classic 350 is much better than the old Classic 350 and is due to this new 350cc motor, which we saw earlier in the Meteor 350. And not only the refinement is better but the overall feel and performance are too. The throttle response is much sharper and it is also much faster than the old classic.
Engine Type | 4 Stroke, Air-Oil Cooled Engine, Spark Ignition, Single Cylinder |
Engine Displacement | 349.34 cc |
Max Power | 20.21 PS @ 6100 rpm |
Max Torque | 27 Nm @ 4000 rpm |
Emission Type | BS6 |
Ignition | Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) |
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Performance

On our acceleration run, the new Classic reached 100 speeds in under 6 seconds. Its mid-range and bottom range variants are also quite sturdy and the new bike feels fast in the city. The clutch is also much lighter than the old bike, so you do not feel tired while driving in traffic. The gearbox is also better but its quality could be a bit better. As you can see in the City, the new Classic 350 is better than the old Classic 350 in terms of smoothness and pickup.
How is its highway performance? The best part is that the new Classic 350 can go above 100 speed and that too with great ease. During the highway testing, we also showed a speed above 120 in the speedometer. The cruising speed of the old classic was around 70 to 80 and on the new classic, you will be able to cruise from 80 to 90 comfortably. You can cruise on it for 100 as well, but the mild engine vibe is definitely there. The overall figure is much better than the old Classic but you still have to downshift while overtaking.

Looking at the specs, it would seem that there is not much difference between the two bikes, but it is not so. Is the engine tune of the new Classic 350 quite different?. On this bike, you get the relaxed feel of the old classic, which will be liked by many people. But when it comes to top-end performance, the new Classic 350 doesn’t have as much power as the Meteor 350.
So this classic is definitely a classic in appearance but it is a modern motorcycle in terms of driving. Its engine is smooth and when it comes to performance, it will definitely be fun to drive in the city or on the highway. It comes with a relaxed feel that will take you to your destination faster and more comfortably than the old classic.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Exhaust

The engine has been improved but how is its exhaust note? let’s find out. You don’t get the thump of a cast-iron engine in both the engines, but the new Classic’s motor has that slight noise and the exhaust note is more bassy. Whether you liked its exhaust note or not, definitely let us know in the comment.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Styling

Its exhaust note is quite different but the styling makes it look like a very old bike. Royal Enfield has done this deliberately so that the new motorcycle does not look too modern and retains the retro charm of the old bike. If you look at its headlight, indicator, and taillight, it is still a bulb unit and the LED elements have not been used at all. You will also look at the overall profile, the new bike is exactly like that of the old bike. If you look closely, you can see the difference between them. Like the fuel tank line is slightly different, the fuel cap is flush-fitting, the switchgear is new and so is the console.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Features

The great thing is that the Classic 350 now has a fuel gauge. Moreover, the triple pod will also be standard in some variants. And you can also add this as an auction. The mudguards and tires of the new bike are wider and the new Classic looks a bit bigger than the old bike. But if you measure millimeters, then it is actually a little small.
Styling is similar to both the bikes but when it comes to fit and finish, there is a difference between the two bikes. The panel gap of the new Classic 350 is tight, the build quality is good and the wires are well packaged. So in terms of quality, the new Classic 350 is a proper modern motorcycle and Royal Enfield will have to praise it.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Mileage

Now the most important question is, How much does it give?. There is not much difference in terms of mileage in both the bikes. But if you consider the performance improvement, the new Classic is more impressive. In terms of range, the range of the new Classic will be less than mild as its fuel tank capacity is slightly less.
Mileage (City) | 41.55 kmpl |
Mileage (Highway) | 37.77 kmpl |
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Ergonomics, Ride, and Handling

Talking about ergonomics, it is also different. The new handlebar is slightly wider, lower, and closer to the rider. Which is the riding posture, it is slightly more comfortable and you feel more connected to the bike. The design of its battery box has also been changed. Which is slightly slimmer than the new Classic 350, which is a good thing for the shot riders. But when it comes to ergonomics, it has two drawbacks. firstly, the tank pad looks great but if you use the tang with the grip, then stinging in your feet.
The other problem is, the footpet is now a spring roller, but if you moving the bike in the parking lot, it hits your shinbone. Talking about the pillion seat, it is spacious and not too soft and it will be comfortable on long rides. Using the new frame didn’t change the weight but the feel of the drive changed. The balance of the frame is so good that you find it quite light. The handling is not as good as the Meteor but is definitely better than the old Classic and it seems to be quite stable on the ton.
New Royal Enfield Classic 350 Suspension & Brakes

The suspension of the new Classic is also new, the telescopic forks are wider and the suspension travel has also been increased. You will be less bothered by the jerks and bumps of bad roads at slow speeds, but you will have to be careful at high speeds because there will be more jerks.
The brakes have also been updated and perform much better than the old classic. Our test bike is a dual-channel ABS variant and we would request you to go for the dual-channel ABS variant as it is safer in any case.
ABS | Dual Channel / Single Channel |
Brakes Front | Disc |
Brakes Rear | Drum |
Suspension-Front | Telescopic, 41 mm forks, 130 mm travel |
Suspension-Rear | Twin-tube emulsion shock absorbers with 6-step adjustable preload |

Verdict
Now the most important question is, will this new Classic 350 scale new heights? And the answer is yes. Royal Enfield has improved the new Classic 350 as much as it needed to do and at the same time has removed all its flaws like refinement, quality, and performance. And the most impressive thing is that the new Classic 350 has the DNA and character of the old Classic 350 but in a better way.
If the old Classic 350 is Dilip Kumar Sahab’s Devdas then the new Classic 350 is Shahrukh Khan’s Devdas. the story and characters are the same but the way of expressing it is new, for a new audience.
